Job Title: Yard Jockey
Job Description

Join our team to secure and organize a container storage yard efficiently. This role involves utilizing a yard switcher and pickup truck, directing drivers picking up and dropping off equipment, handling gate security transactions, lifting and relocating improperly parked equipment, and performing security checks and inventory counts.

Responsibilities

• Secure and organize the container storage yard.
• Operate a yard switcher and pickup truck.

• Conduct security checks and inventory counts.

Essential Skills

• Experience in general labor, forklift operation, and driving.
• Proficiency as a yard jockey and in security operations.
• Preferred experience with a forklift or yard switcher.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Forklift experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with truck drivers.

Work Environment

Work outdoors in a shipping container storage yard, facing the elements. This is a 365-day operation, requiring availability for weekends and some holidays. Shifts are from 2 pm to 10 pm, focusing on loading, material handling, inventory, and truck operations.

This is a Contract position based out of Savannah, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
