Overview Sr. Risk Associate on the Card Customer Identity Management Team supports operational excellence in the Customer Identity landscape. The role focuses on process improvements, redesign initiatives, and educating stakeholders to ensure consistent execution. The position collaborates with 2nd line business stakeholders to build relationships that drive process improvements and maintain a well-managed process environment. The ideal candidate has experience in a strategy-oriented team or regulated operations, strong relationship-building and creative problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities. Adaptability, intellectual curiosity, and meticulous attention to detail are essential in a dynamic risk management environment. General Responsibilities Build and maintain knowledge of Identity policies & processes, AML legal and regulatory requirements, and Identity operational execution Establish and nurture relationships with Segments, FDO Operations, AML Advisory, and Product/Tech teams Support Customer Identity Risk & Controls with policy ownership and problem solving for audits, exams, and major initiatives Develop subject matter expertise for Acquisitions and customer management processes, identifying AML improvements Collaborate on new tools to enable automation in manual areas of the process Lead and own oversight of smaller process improvement work; collaborate on larger initiatives Drive changes and execute high-priority, regulatory-driven AML process changes Design, develop, and manage plans in a complex, dynamic environment Track and resolve process breakdowns Understand customer needs and drive process improvements Develop and maintain formal process documentation including procedures and process flow diagrams Act as a subject matter expert to partner with project customers to achieve outcomes by clarifying needs and providing solutions Basic Qualifications High School Diploma, GED or equivalent At least 2 years of experience in Business Process Management, Project Management, Relationship Management or Risk Management Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or military experience At least 3 years of Process Management or Project Management experience Note: At this time, Capital One will not sponsor employment authorization for this position. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries are location-based. Richmond, VA: $86,000 - $98,200 for Sr. Risk Associate. Salaries for other locations follow the applicable pay ranges and will be reflected in the offer letter. This role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives, depending on the plan. Capital One offers a comprehensive benefits package.
