Project Accountant – NYC Metro Area (On-Site)

💵 Salary - $100,00 - $120,000

HireIQ is seeking a highly skilled Project Accountant on behalf of a leading construction and development firm. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional with strong project accounting experience to join a collaborative, fast-paced team working on high-impact projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage multi-project accounting across various stages and reporting requirements
• Analyze project budgets, monitor actuals vs. forecasts, and provide variance insights
• Prepare complex financial reports and ensure timely project/subcontractor closeouts
• Reconcile project costs, billing deferrals, and support cash flow/revenue projections
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on financial documentation
• Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to process improvements

What You’ll Need:

• 5 years of accounting/finance experience, ideally in construction or real estate
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA a plus)
• Advanced Excel skills (certification preferred); Sage Intacct and Procore experience a bonus
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to navigate construction sites when needed
