About the Role Shaw / Scott is seeking a strategic, data-driven, and forward-thinking Senior Marketing Strategist who thrives on solving complex challenges and shaping the future of customer engagement. This role is ideal for someone who blends deep technical and analytical expertise with a creative, solutions-focused mindsetsomeone who is energized by big ideas, not slowed by perceived blockers, and who consistently pushes the boundaries of what's possible while building lasting partnerships that drive measurable business impact.

You'll serve as a thought leader for both our clients and our internal teams, translating trends, technologies, and data insights into bold, actionable strategies. In this role, you'll be expected to stay ahead of our fast-moving industry, bring innovation into every engagement, and champion fresh approaches that challenge the status quo while ensuring strategies remain deeply aligned with client growth priorities. The ideal candidate will also bring deep expertise in email modernization practices ensuring clients are prepared to leverage the next generation of personalization, automation, and scalable creative solutions. A key expectation of this role is to lead the charge in AI readinesspartnering with clients to assess, prepare, and evolve their marketing ecosystems for the integration of artificial intelligence. This includes designing strategies for AI-powered automation, hyper-personalization, predictive analytics, and real-time optimization, while ensuring data, creative assets, and workflows are structured for scalable AI adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead data-driven strategic initiatives across email, SMS, mobile, and emerging channels, leveraging technical expertise and analytics to guide client success and long-term growth
  • Lead modernization initiatives within client email programs, incorporating modular design systems, scalable templates, and AI-ready frameworks that future-proof marketing capabilities while deepening enterprise client value
  • Drive comprehensive AI readiness efforts by recommending systems and practices that enable clients to seamlessly adopt and scale AI-driven marketing technologies across channels, ensuring business impact at scale
  • Translate complex customer, behavioral, and campaign data into clear, high-impact insights and actionable recommendations that influence enterprise-level decision-making
  • Develop measurement frameworks, segmentation models, and testing roadmaps that drive innovation and optimize performance and uncover new opportunities for client growth
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, inspiring them with forward-thinking strategies and solution-oriented approaches that strengthen long-term partnership
  • Continuously scan the marketplace for emerging trends, tools, and technologies, incorporating them into client strategies and internal best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teamscreatives, developers, data analysts, campaign managersto bring big-picture strategies to life
  • Deliver engaging presentations, workshops, and playbooks that communicate complex strategies in a compelling, client-friendly way, fostering buy-in from executive stakeholders
  • Ensure all presentations tell a clear, compelling story demonstrating strategic vision and measurable outcomes
  • Show up as confident and fluent in executive-level dialogue, connecting marketing initiatives to overarching business goals and priorities
  • Actively contribute to Shaw / Scott's thought leadership by sharing insights, publishing perspectives, and elevating the company's presence in the industry

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in digital marketing strategy, with demonstrated expertise in data analytics, technical platforms, and cross-channel integration
  • Proven track record of innovative problem-solving and delivering measurable impact that drives client growth and strengthens long-term partnerships
  • Understanding of marketing technology ecosystemsincluding ESPs, CDPs, analytics tools, segmentation platforms, and data privacy best practices
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with comfort in data visualization and in translating insights into enterprise-level recommendations
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skillsable to bridge the gap between technical complexity and executive-level decision-making. Must be adept at engaging with high-level stakeholders and capable of translating complex strategies into language and concepts that resonate
  • Self-starting, organized, and adaptableable to manage multiple projects without losing sight of the strategic vision and partnership goals
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.

Work Environment / Travel

We are a 100% remote company where you will work from your home with company-provided equipment to set you up for success. This role will require regular travel to Seattle for in-person collaboration, strategic workshops, and client meetings.

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $140,000-$175,000, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at Shaw / Scott, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and / or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a generous benefits package, including company paid health insurance, 401K with employer match, 4 weeks PTO per year, parental leave, communication allowance, and more.
