Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Plant Manager to lead operations at a leading bathware manufacturer.

The Plant Manager role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our plant operations—including production, quality, safety, maintenance, and workforce management—while driving a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

This role will partner closely with senior leadership to deliver on business goals, achieve world-class performance standards, and ensure our facility operates with the highest levels of efficiency, quality, and safety. This is a critical leadership position with direct impact on customer satisfaction, profitability, and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production

  • Direct and oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production goals are met on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Manage scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation to maximize labor, machinery, and material efficiency.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve throughput and reduce cycle times.

Workforce Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline teams.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, high performance, and employee engagement.
  • Ensure workforce planning, staffing, and training align with production demand.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with product quality standards, industry regulations, and certifications.
  • Partner with QA to reduce defect rates and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Enforce strict adherence to OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards.
  • Oversee safety training, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental regulations (emissions, waste, chemical handling).

Equipment & Maintenance

  • Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure minimal unplanned downtime through effective maintenance planning.
  • Evaluate and approve capital expenditures for new equipment and upgrades.

Financial & Cost Management

  • Develop and manage the plant’s operating budget.
  • Monitor and control cost drivers in labor, materials, utilities, and maintenance.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives while sustaining quality.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to align operations with business needs.
  • Support new product introductions, mold/tooling changes, and process improvements.
  • Communicate operational performance, challenges, and solutions to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Proven track record in managing large teams in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and quality standards relevant to manufacturing.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports using Microsoft Office.
  • Experience managing in a Union Environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills/abilities.
  • Maintenance leadership experience with TPM, PLC, and SMED a plus.
