The Division of Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin, in partnership with Childrens Wisconsin, is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation Physician. This full-time faculty position is available at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, commensurate with experience and academic achievement. While prior experience is preferred, we welcome applications from recent fellowship graduates. Leadership opportunities are available for qualified candidates with an interest in program development and academic advancement.
The Heart Failure and Transplant Program at Childrens Wisconsin provides comprehensive care for a diverse patient population, including those with complex congenital heart disease and cardiomyopathies. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team comprising two experienced pediatric cardiologists, three nurse practitioners, a dedicated nurse coordinator, and two pediatric heart surgeons. The program has robust expertise in mechanical circulatory support, including both temporary and durable ventricular assist devices (VADs). Services include inpatient consultative care for the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) and Acute Cardiac Unit, as well as specialized outpatient heart failure and transplant clinics held multiple times per week.
Through our Forward Pediatric Alliance (FPA), which is a collaboration between the Herma Heart Institute at Children's Wisconsin and UW Health Kids/American Family Childrens Hospital, the program benefits from a strong regional network and opportunities for cross-institutional collaboration.
The Herma Heart Institute is internationally recognized for its excellence in the care of children with complex congenital heart disease. It offers a full spectrum of pediatric and adult congenital cardiovascular services across the Midwest. The Institute includes 30 pediatric cardiology faculty members, 2 pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons, 8 pediatric cardiac intensivists, 8 pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists and a highly skilled group of nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
