Job Description Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist gallery manager with daily operations of a retail gallery business. This includes welcoming/assisting people that visit Madeby, assist with coordinating gallery events, special projects, maintaining Madeby's website, promoting the gallery to the public/social networking, receiving merchandise/preparing merchandise for sale in the gallery, and multi tasking

The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the job:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet, give brief description of Madeby and assist customers with sales of gallery items.
• Maintain current knowledge of featured products and artwork.
• Responsible of order and cleanliness of the gallery.
• Assist with planning gallery events.
• Assist in hanging artwork.
• Restocking of merchandise and packaging.
• Help to maintain a safe environment.
• Follow up communications after a sale over $200. (thank you note.)
• Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be enthusiastic about Ringling College of Art and Design; displays positive and professional attitude at all times.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be highly self-motivated
• Must possess excellent organizational skills
• Ability to pass a criminal background check

Education and Experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must be enrolled at Ringling College of Art and Design
• Previous gallery and/or customer service experience a plus
