YOUR DAY

As a Heavy Equipment Operator at Peacock Excavating LLC, your average day will be filled with thrilling challenges and opportunities to showcase your expertise. You'll find yourself running a variety of heavy equipment, including water trucks, backhoes, bulldozers, and excavators. Your role will also involve managing and maintaining our heavy equipment fleet, ensuring they are in optimal condition for efficient operation.

From using excavators and backhoes to dig trenches and foundations, to operating bulldozers to move earth and grade land, you'll be at the forefront of our construction and site preparation tasks. Additionally, you'll have the vital responsibility of managing the water truck, distributing water as needed on our construction sites. If you have experience operating finish graders, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your skills and achieve precise grading and leveling of surfaces. Collaboration with team members and effective communication will be key as you work together to ensure project success.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL AS A HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR:

• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation, along with a clean driving record.
• 1-3 years of related experience, although candidates with 3+ years of experience are preferred.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment operations, safety practices, and maintenance procedures.
• The ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing project requirements.
• Experience operating finish graders is highly desirable.

WORK SCHEDULE AND LOCATION

This is a full-time position with a typical schedule of 7 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday . Occasionally, you may be requested to work on a Saturday. Our headquarters are located in Provo, Utah, where you'll join our dedicated team in delivering exceptional excavation services.
