JOB TITLE: Harvest Cellar Support

DEPARTMENT: Winemaking

DIRECTLY REPORTS TO: Production Winemaker

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:

A Harvest Cellar Intern typically assists the cellar team with day-to-day harvest operations in wineries. Here are some key responsibilities and qualifications for this role: preparing equipment to receive and process grapes, performing general cleaning and sanitation tasks, and handling barrel work, including prepping, filling, topping, and racking.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for performing a variety of cellar operations including but not limited to:

• Grape receiving and processing activities

• Additions to wines/musts

• Cap management practices, such as pump-overs

• Fermentation monitoring

• Barrel activities (cleaning, filling, and topping)

• Equipment, tank and winery sanitation

• Other tasks deemed necessary will vary depending on daily needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A positive attitude
• Reliability, and ability to report to work timely
• Ability to work both independently and as a team member
• Ability to understand and comply with any and all safety requirements
• Effective communication skills
• Attention to details, with a good reading, writing and math skills
• Fluent in English or as a second language required
• Ability to speak Spanish preferred
• Valid California Driver's License and clean DMV record preferred but not required

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

• Ability to stand, twist, turn, and lift.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to work in a variety of temperatures
