Position Summary Reporting to the District Manager (DM), the General Manager (GM) will lead the day-to-day operations of a single store to achieve all sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, inventory control, brand representation, and team member growth and development to maximize the results of the store. Through personal selling, leadership, and coaching, the GM will champion a People First store environment that promotes diversity and inclusion, the development of life-time relationships with customers and the delivery of a best-in-class customer experience. Responsibilities Direct the day-to-day operations of a single store to achieve sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, inventory control, brand representation, and team development. Lead with personal selling, leadership, and coaching to foster a People First environment. Communicate performance expectations and ensure staff understand the impact of their performance on company success. Coach and develop staff to ensure brand image consistency in customer interactions and store visuals. Execute corporate plans and initiatives to produce desired results; collaborate with Signet stakeholders to foster open communication and shared objectives. Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and respect in interactions with customers and team members. Ensure exceptional customer experiences through training, outreach, and clear expectations; empower staff to respond to and resolve customer issues within parameters. Monitor and analyze sales performance, reports, trends, and resources; develop plans to address issues and opportunities. Maintain compliance with company policies and strive for outstanding sales performance and profit margins. Schedule and manage a five-day, 40-hour work week during non-peak hours with shifts that cover opening and closing times; adjust hours during peak periods. Perform additional duties and projects as assigned. Position Qualifications Education: Minimum of 2 years of college preferred Experience: at least 3 years of retail sales experience, OR 2 years retail sales experience plus a minimum of 1-year retail management experience Preference for candidates with specialty retail or jewelry experience; Diamond Council of America (DCA) certification is a plus Technical/Other Skills: Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal; proficiency with MS Office and related business tools; strong interpersonal skills; advanced presentation and training abilities; problem solving and conflict management skills Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and delegate effectively; ability to explain detailed information clearly Reliable and dependable; bilingual skills are a plus Work Schedule During non-peak periods, aim for a five-day, 40-hour work week; schedule based on business needs A combination of opening and closing shifts; consider operating hours, customer traffic, and staff development needs Physical Demands Regularly required to communicate with others; stand, reach, and move between display cases; may sit, stoop, bend, kneel or crouch as needed. May lift up to 10 pounds. Visual acuity required for distinguishing details. Standard workweek includes weekends, evenings, holidays, and extended hours. Travel to training and meetings may be required. Compensation Base pay, $62,500 – $94,500 plus commission on sales. Final pay rate determined by experience and qualifications.
