About the Role
The Company is eager to welcome an Executive Director who will spearhead its strategic vision and amplify its role as a cultural and economic pillar. This dynamic leader will have a proven history in fundraising and donor engagement, showcasing their ability to attract major investments. Key responsibilities encompass the oversight of all operational aspects, financial planning, programming, and team management while also acting as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for the organization. We are looking for a visionary leader capable of cultivating a culture of innovation, fostering collaborative efforts, and effectively communicating the organization's mission. The Executive Director will engage with the community, guide board development, and ensure sound governance, alongside managing personnel and facilities.
Qualifications for applicants include a minimum of five years in nonprofit leadership, with demonstrated success in strategic initiatives, fundraising, and community outreach. A profound commitment to African American and Black arts and culture, especially in Southern or diasporic contexts, is essential. The ideal candidate will be a charismatic unifier, showing personal accountability and adept project management skills, while possessing a strong understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion. A solid track record in nonprofit financial management and governance is crucial, along with the ability to engage diverse communities and stakeholders effectively. The Executive Director should lead with diplomacy, flexibility, and a steadfast dedication to the organization's mission.
